Loews Stock Outlook: Is Wall Street Bullish or Bearish?![]() With a market cap of $18.4 billion, Loews Corporation (L) provides commercial property and casualty insurance in the United States and internationally. Headquartered in New York, the company offers specialty insurance products, such as management and professional liability, and other coverage products, surety and fidelity bonds; professional liability coverage, and more. Shares of L have outperformed the broader market over the past 52 weeks. L stock has increased 15.4% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied 10.1%. Moreover, shares of L are up 3.4% on a YTD basis, outpacing $SPX's marginal decline. In addition, L has also outpaced SPDR S&P Insurance ETF’s (KIE) 12.2% rise over the past 52 weeks and 2.1% growth in 2025. ![]() L stock declined 1.8% following the release of its Q1 earnings on May 5. But, the company’s net income for the quarter decreased 19% to $379 million, mainly driven by unfavorable net prior year loss reserve development. Loews’ adjusted loss per share for the quarter came in at $1.74.
